Today I’m going to step up the skincare game for all of us, I’m talking about triple masking.
What is triple masking?
Using three types of face masks consecutively to exfoliate, detox and hydrate for a deep cleanse, tightened pores, and glowy skin.
Triple masking is also more effective compared to, let say, using a pore cleansing clay mask on its own.
So how to triple mask?
Step 1: Exfoliate with a resurfacing mask.
1 tsp full-fat yogurt
1/2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp honey
1/4 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp fine granulated sugar
Once the mask has been stirred until smooth.
Apply with your fingers and very gently massage.
Let the mask sit for five to ten minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
“Yogurt and lemon juice both contain AHA—alpha hydroxy acids—that gently and naturally exfoliate dead skin cells.
“Vitamin C in the lemons contains powerful antioxidants to help fight free radicals aging effects on the skin.
Yogurt doubles as a hydrator along with honey which has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory actions.
Coconut oils high vitamin E content helps soothe skin and moisturize.
Applying this at night because lemons can cause the skin to be more sensitive to sunlight.
Everyone knows exfoliation is an essential step in any skincare routine.
If this sounds familiar, don’t despair. You can exfoliate! You just need the right gentle ingredients.
To find this perfect formula, this particular DIY alpha hydroxy acid exfoliating mask is a must.
Step 2: Deep cleanse with a clay mask.
After unclogging your pores, it’s time to detox and draw out impurities with a mud mask.
Clay masks help lift away dirt from your pores, which is gloriously awesome, but it can be incredibly drying so it’s important to hydrate afterwadrs.
You Will Need
1 tablespoon bentonite clay (or any other clay of your choice)
1/4 teaspoon activated charcoal
distilled water as required
Take the clay in a plastic or glass bowl add activated charcoal.
Dilute it distilled water (this lowers the pH levels of the clay, which can otherwise irritate sensitive skin).
Apply it on your face and let it dry.
Rinse the mask with cold water and pat your face dry.
Activated charcoal is one of the best ingredients you can use to remove blackheads naturally.
This face mask draws out all the bacteria and dirt from your face, unclogs your pores, and keeps the hair follicles clean.
Step 3: Hydrate with a sheet mask.
Now that all the nasties and gunk has been lifted off your face, it’s time to go in and put moisture back into the skin.
Time to pop on my favorite sheet mask!
Cotton sheet mask
First, add ½ tbsp glycerin to a small mixing bowl.
Next, add ½ tbsp rosewater to your mixing bowl.
add 3-4 drops of almond oil
Next, take your cotton sheet mask and drench it in the solution.
Make sure it’s evenly soaked and let the excess drip off the mask.
For colling effects, you can place the bowl in the fridge for 15 minutes.
The sheet locks the serum into your skin so you see results faster and sometimes instantly.
Now place the sheet mask on your face and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. This ensures that you’re getting all the benefits from the skincare products.
These sheet masks are so hydrating, and you’ll feel instantly revived after one use! The rose smell is also very relaxing.
