If you’ve spent too much time in the sun and tanned your skin, there are ways to lighten your skin or remove the tanning without damaging your face.
And this is the right time to do it as we have a lot of time in our hands these days due to lockdown.
You can use products that contain skin-brightening ingredients like tomato, lemon, papaya, banana, and honey.
I’m sharing some cult favorite DIY Masks with the ingredients that I know you’ll have at home.
1st Mask: Apply toothpaste and tomato puree to brighten your face
Plain White Toothpaste
Mix a dime-sized amount of toothpaste with 2 tablespoons of tomato puree and apply it to your face.
Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before washing it off with water and a mild facial cleanser.
Avoid using a toothpaste that contains SLS and propylene glycol if you have sensitive skin because these ingredients can cause irritation.
Tomato is one ingredient that has a number of benefits starting with the fact that they are loaded with antioxidants and are also super-rich in vitamins and minerals which help battle tan.
The active whitening ingredient in the toothpaste will fade your tan.
Apply a facial mask made from lemon juice and honey every day.
Mix the juice of 1 medium-sized lemon with 1 tablespoon of honey and massage it onto your face.
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before washing it off.
Do this treatment every day for up to 2 weeks to fade your tan.
Honey helps moisturize your skin and, as a plus, it can get rid of acne-causing bacteria.
Lemon can remove enzymes that produce melanin which allows your skin to darken after sun exposure.
If you have sensitive skin, this isn’t a good treatment option for you, I would suggest the next remedies.
Do this treatment with orange juice and yogurt.
Mix 1 tablespoon of orange juice with 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt and apply it to your face using circular motions.
Leave it on for 30 minutes and then wash it away with a mild facial cleanser.
Do this treatment every other day or every day to fade a tan fast.
Curd is natural suntan removers because it can decrease pigmentation, dark spots, and reduce the oiliness from the skin.
Curd has the bleaching agent to fight sun tan quickly.
Vitamin C present in orange will give your skin a boost and the tan would fade off.
